Canadian Cold Spray Conference

The Industrial Materials Institute of the National Research Council (NRC-IMI) will host a two-day conference on cold spray on June 15-16, 2010. 2nd Canadian Cold Spray Conference (CCSC) will provide a forum where researchers, technicians, manufacturers and end-users will review recent advances, current needs and future challenges in cold spray. The conference structure includes a series of presentations from invited speakers covering a full range of topics related to cold spray. In addition, there will be visits to MAMADC’s cold spray facility, and table top displays for companies to showcase the latest technologies in the cold spray field. Contributions in the form of posters are also solicited from graduate students. This event is a venue for exchanging ideas and identifying opportunities for making concrete advances in the field.  With a spotlight on the aerospace, energy, automotive and military sectors, the conference will focus on the following themes:

   High performance coatings

   Process control

   Modelling and simulation

   Industrial applications / case study

Cold sprayed combined with laser ablation

   Equipment development

   Spray forming

   Nanostructured coatings

   Helium recovery
